Poppy and Alex see each other only one week out of the year, but that seven days means more to them than all the others. They visit new cities, sample new cuisines and purposefully lose their way. Their differences are part of what makes trips fun — Poppy prods Alex to try new things, and Alex encourages Poppy to chill out. Ten years in, the trips are familiar and then they aren’t. A small touch lingers longer. A shared look lasts too long. They feel the shift, but are scared of messing up their friendship. Perhaps this will be the year they decide to opt for truth over terror.
